Are you deeply rooted?
This past week has shown me that my faith is like a pool. One side is deep while the other is shallow… barely reaching my ankles. The hard part is that I truly didn’t realize how shallow those areas were until I prayed for patience and the Lord allowed them to be exposed.

Last night I read Mark 4:16 and it confirmed exactly what God had already been showing me about myself. In certain areas, I am simply not deeply rooted yet. And honestly? That realization was humbling, but also freeing. Because once the problem is identified, healing and growth can begin.

So how do we fix it? We spend time in the Word so we can truly learn God’s nature. We take every worry, fear, and concern to Him and allow Him to carry those burdens instead of trying to control everything ourselves. Instead of hyper-fixating on everything that could go wrong, we can focus on what God has actually commissioned us to do.

I’m genuinely excited about this season of growth, pruning, and developing deeper roots in God.

For the first time in a VERY long time…I took a scorching hot shower and my skin did not punish me for it afterwards. DID YOU READ WHAT I WROTE! I took a typical lady’s standard million degree shower and my skin is STILL moisturized!

I’ve been using our Urea Repair Cream consistently since January and something happened Friday morning that genuinely caught my attention.

Thursday night I took a really hot shower. The kind that usually leaves your skin feeling dry tight itchy and uncomfortable afterward. Zechariah 4 shows us a powerful example of what it looks like when we are fueled and led by the Lord in all things. I can admit that there have been many times when I was fueled by lust, greed, pride, pain, and fear. Those sources led to continuous suffering for both myself and those connected to me. Being empowered by what I felt I could control seemed safe and even wise, but in all honesty, it was neither safe nor wise. It was torment.

I wanted out of whatever situation I found myself in, but I did not trust in the One who could deliver me from it. I found myself in a maze of confusion, hopelessness, and defeat, unable to see a way out. I could not deliver myself, just as you cannot deliver yourself. Not by sheer force, not by large numbers, but simply by God’s Spirit alone.

Surrendering is not easy. We have to lay down our fleshly nature and override our instinctive desire to “protect” ourselves. But it is so worth it. The Lord alone empowers us to do things that money, manpower, and influence could never achieve.
